BITE

Today was one of those mornings when after saying “hi” to those I met on the beach, one of us would inevitably follow it with: “bit cold, eh?” or something to that effect. You could feel the bite in the wind; guess winter’s still with us.

But such chats about the weather are always said with a grin; we’re glad to be there, no matter how numb our hands get. I like that optimism, or perhaps it’s better summed up as an appreciation of what you’ve got. Like the handful of surfers off Ladies Rock Pool: they had a small swell first thing but all looked like they were enjoying it.

Brings a smile.
